People Guess the Sexual Orientation of Strangers

A who’s who of awkward assumptions and judgments.

If put on the spot, guessing anyone's sexual orientation is no comfortable task, let alone judging a stranger's. How can you make your assumption? How they look, how they dress, their stance? It's riddled with stigma, stereotypes, and basically a shallow outlook on how diverse and liberating our sexual orientations can be. When it comes to labels on sexual orientation, people have personal preference. Some people may identify with similar sexual preferences in terms of their desired partners, but they may prefer a different label. This study doesn't take itself too seriously, and reflects a light-hearted snapshot of how we may form labels in today's society. It's a who's who of awkward assumptions and judgments that reminds us just how wrong we may get it if we judge a person's sexual orientation straight up before getting to know them.
